YouTube Priorities: A Form

Blackout Message

The following message was sent out to my social circle in a group chat. As a result of the message being sent, I will not be contributing any work to any platform (other than schoolwork) for the next few days. There will be no new videos on my YouTube channel, no art being posted on DeviantArt, absolutely nothing. I just need some time away from everything to focus on what I believe is important; academics and mental health.

I'm... just going to indulge in an inner monologue here, don't mind me.

So, I feel like there's been a bit of a cycle recently.

I don't exactly know what feels cyclic, but the conversations here just seem repetitive after a while, and no real ideas are being discussed.

Don't get me wrong, the group itself is fine. But this is the first (technically third) group chat that I've actively engaged in, and I just feel like we're not moving forward. I know, it's not a story. This is real life; none of it should be treated as fictional. However, from a narrative perspective, there have been no plot developments. Nothing of interest, no major life moments; nil, zilch, goose egg. I guess the last plot development was the wrap-up of the Akira Kagawa plotline, but that was really just improv that I set up myself to entertain (or disturb). 

I suppose what it comes down to, is that I'm always not sure if I'm contributing too much, or not at all. I've taken on quite a few personas over time; V.S., Exypnos Chronis, Kitsuna Clarke, Sakura Clarke, Akira, Pavor, myself from another dimension, et cetera.

Maybe I'm too clingy, or desperate. I won't deny that those traits could be true.

I've also acted oblivious, cold, jumpy, idiotically, and emotionally unstable, all at different times. I'm not sure which ones are actually true... and which ones that I was just acting out.

It's stupid, I'm stupid, I get that. But I don't know what to say or what to do on this chat anymore. 

I sincerely apologize to anyone that had to deal with my switches and acts before, and I also apologize if at any point I sounded like a stereotypical teenager wanting rebellion. I don't want to be like that. But I'm afraid that's sort of just what happens as you grow up. You change, a lot, and you're going to have to deal with it in whatever way you deem necessary.

I might have to quit this for a few days to re-evaluate... stuff. Maybe. No guarantee. Please know that none of this is your fault. Again, maybe. I'm trying to think of some reassuring words, but I'm not really feeling up to it right now. Sorry.

This rant is a very big regret of mine. But you'd understand, right?

Subconscious Stealing

I feel like sometimes I hear something, any piece of music, and it just sticks with me. All the down to the point where when I'm writing music, I accidentally put a motif or two in. Then I tend to scrap the entire piece, or at least some parts of it because I feel like I'm not being original enough.
Which is stupid. All music has restraints, namely the notes available, and the various combinations of, said notes, to create music, or garbage. There are a lot of combinations, but the number of possible music combinations is still finite, so eventually we, as humans, will run out of unique music to play. Then what? Well, we've already had some pieces having copies of other melodies. The oldest example is probably, 'Ah! Vous dirai-je maman', a French children's song from the mid- to late- 1700's. You may recognize the melody from popular English children's songs like, 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star', 'Baa, Baa, Black Sheep', and, 'The Alphabet Song'. Yes, technically all three of these songs are, 'copying' the melody of, 'Ah! Vous dirai-je maman', but by the same logic, so are Liszt, Mozart, Haydn, and Bach; some of the most well-known classical composers.
I haven't even gotten to the 4-chord progression yet. It's kind of a joke by now in the music community that all pop songs can be played using only four chords. Well, that is, in the key of everything but C major, because unless you're just starting to learn music, or you just like the colour of C major, professional musicians usually (with some exceptions) do not use C major. Probably because everyone's already learned songs in school that were in C major, and got tired of it. You can't please everyone. Anyway, despite my tendency to go on tangents, I must stay on track. The four chords in the 4-chord progression can be switched up any which way, but is most commonly seen like this: I-V-vi-IV. The Story of Pride Neilsen

  This is the story of Pride Neilsen. Pride was born in Manchester, England on June 19, 1996. Born as the son of Polly and Asethys Neilsen, young Pride showed early signs of possible genius. At the age of four, Pride learned how to distinguish between specific frequencies of sound, and later developed a higher-pitched voice as a result. When he was twelve years old, he met his best friend, Edgar Chronis. Despite the fact that Edgar was seven years older than Pride, he didn’t seem to mind. Their friendship lasted for 2 years, until they hit a rough patch. They swore to each other that they would never meet again.
  Nine years later, on February 21, Edgar and Pride met back together and buried the hatchet. At this point, it should be noted, that Pride had changed his name a total of three times, while Edgar changed his name once. It is unclear why both of them changed their names. Pride later went into psychotherapy for unknown reasons and now works as a colleague of Edgar to study mysteries.
